California Fresh II Film Series
Back by popular demand, the Crocker is proud to partner once again with California Humanities to present three films that tell compelling stories rooted in the Golden State. Expanding on subjects like collective action, identity, immigration, and art as activism that are present in the exhibitions Estampas de La Raza: Contemporary Prints from the Romo Collection and Royal Chicano Air Force, A Gathering: Works from 'Contemporary Black American Ceramic Artists,' and Breaking the Rules: Paul Wonner and Theophilus Brown, this film series explores the power of bike riding, roller skating, and music in a manner that is both substantively thought-provoking and entertaining. Each screening is introduced by John Lightfoot of California Humanities, the grant-making nonprofit that helped fund these films. A Q & A with the filmmakers or subjects will follow select screenings.
