Description

Local artist Jessica Wimbley presents a screening of Zora Neale Hurston’s historic anthropological short, Fieldwork Footage (1928) and Sengalese filmmaker Ousmane Sembène’s directorial debut, Black Girl (1966)—one of the essential films of the 1960s and one that altered the history of cinema. 

Wimbley is an African American womanist artist making mixed and multi-media art focusing on intersectional identity, history, myth, and futurity.
